Are you a follower or a leader?

This question is not in regards to your professional position or personal influence.

It is about your inner world. It is about what goes on in your mind.

Your thoughts, your emotions, your feeling.

One person can be very well established and have a particular position of influence in a business organisation or group of people, but in their mind feeling a failure, living with resentment, doubt fear and so on.

The meaning one gives to what is going on in mind reflects in the outer world the appreciation and gratefulness for what one has.

The question of being a leader or follower is about thinking.

Thoughts arise from nowhere, sometimes like flyes or mosquito buzzing around you that you try to push away with frantic gesticulation and annoyance. Maybe you can catch it but depending on the environment that you are (your inner state) more of them will be coming and will be a constant fight, with a waste of energy.

Q. If my thoughts are detrimental, how can I get rid of them?

A. By being a leader and not a follower of your thoughts

Let's start with being a FOLLOWER of your thoughts:

Someone that takes a model or ideas regards it that adhere to it and goes behind it and with it.

The follower is a servant, subscriber, a disciple of a belief and subconscious programming, resulting in mechanical behaviours.

If you are a follower of your thoughts and emotions, you have no will power; you are subordinated and controlled by a boss. Your mind is your master; you become domesticated by your thought, attitude and behaviours.

Your feelings take away great vital energy from you and reduce your potential.

A follower of one owns thoughts and emotion might experience dullness and incompleteness, no matter what is your position in life.

Being the LEADER of your thoughts:

In the Forbes article of Brent Gleeson, a good leader is someone that with many other qualities, possess a clear vision, is courageous, has integrity, honesty, humility and focus.

These are also significant aspects of emotional leadership which determines wellbeing of the person in regards to health, relationship, business, and passion.

When you observe what's going on with your thought, emotions and feelings with clarity, courage, integrity, honesty, humility and focus, you find inner strength and balance.

Below there is a breakdown of each of these, and I invite you to add more if you get insights:

Clear vision: broaden your perspective by taking different positions and not just the identification with what is going on in your mind and thoughts.

Being identified with is attachment and association, which creates unwanted emotional states.

To have clarity is like being the sky and not the clouds.

Courage: it takes courage to face your fears, doubts and negative past experiences in the form of memories. It takes courage to stand still under a storm or by a strong wind.

But if you stand still and strong, you will develop incredible powers and energy that you might have not ever experienced.

Integrity: the state of being whole and undivided by the thoughts and emotions. Remain integral, embrace what is going on as part of you. Remember without you, your negative thoughts, emotions and feeling don't exist either.

Honesty: Be honest with yourself, don't pretend to be who you are not in your own house. BE honest with your weaknesses and embrace and support them to integrate them into your wholeness.

Humility: Dictionary definition: the quality of having a modest or low view of one's importance. Don't regard your negative thinking and emotions as the truth and reality. In the process of self-observation and liberation from emotional conditioning, you might also want to do the same with positive thoughts.

Focus: observe, observe, observe. Pay attention to every thought that disempowers you. Look at it, feel it, hear it!

On the beginning, you might want to concentrate on the general aspect of you thinking till you sharpen your ability of Clear vision.

Remember, energy flows where attention goes!

I f you believe that you are not able to control your thoughts and emotions, that you fell a sense of dullness.
